The unknown travel hotspots in the United States?

dookie asked:

Ok i love travelling and i have been to the United States 3 times now. I am from New Zealand.

I’ve pretty much been all over the USA but love it so much ill be coming back at the end of May. I’ve been to Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, Key West to name a few… lol.

I will be at a summer camp in Pennsylvania but have a few weeks before and a lot of time after to travel.

Can any American’s suggest some amazing places to visit that might not be known to the common tourist? Im talking about anything really, scenic areas, attractions, night-life, etc.
haha been to comton too, by accident! I took the subway from Hollywood wanting to get to Anaheim…

Check out Compton, CA. It is the birthplace of gangsta rap.

Ha ha. You pretty much hit all the great spots. Have you seen Mount Rushmore yet? If you did, maybe try Hawaii? I mean I don’t know any other good place.

Check out more of our National Parks. There are some hidden gems and depending on what you’re interested in and where you’ll be you should be able to find something unique.
I’m a big fan of Joshua Tree NP. If you’ve never tried rock climbing, go here, hire a guide or take a class. It’s awesome.
Check out some of the parks that relate to the early Americans like Bandelier, Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Effigy Mounds…
There are too many to list. Check out the website and pick and choose what you fancy.

Have an AWESOME trip to the US.
