Clearwater, Key West, Daytona, Panama City? Which one?

rj1234 asked:

Where should I go on vacation?
Me and two of my cousins are going on a vacation trip to Florida for the week at the end of May. I’m 20 but have my other cousins ID (who is 21) and theyre both 21 too! So we’re looking for a good beach relaxing place but some night clubs and fun as well. We were thinking Clearwater, Fla… Key West.. Panama City.. Daytona… Daytona is sort of a last resort theyve been there numerous times.

Any help? Also places of clubs and good hotels.. THANKS!

Panama City has the best beach and is a big spring break destination.
The beaches at Key West are not good, but both places have night life.
    I would not recommend Clearwater.

Panama City and Key West are great for clubs and nightlife. I am in the vacation industry and know Florida pretty well. Have you considered a vacation home or condo instead of a hotel? I am not sure what kind of budget you are working with but you might be able to get a house or at least a nice condo on the beach. My company The Vacation Finders can find you something in your price range at no charge. You can go to our website and fill out a request. Within 48 hours you will have some properties to look at.

…..Well I’d go Key West , Clear Water , Panama City , Daytona.
All are good but I’d look into Key West and south Beach first.

Im not so good on clubs, but I know a nice town and relaxation, so here is the recommendation….

    1. Clearwater area, but drive over the bridge and stay out on Sand Key.
    2. Key West. Beaches aren’t really any good, but you’ll have a great time. Swim in the pools. :)
    3. Panama City – capital of the redneck Riviera. Pretty nice beaches, but otherwise, hillbillyville.
    4. Daytona Beach. You’re welcome to it.

Not on your list, but here’s a good choice…. the Pensacola Beach area, or maybe Destin. Navarre Beach (same area) is quieter, all have nice beaches. There are clubs and stuff in Pensacola, or so I’m told. (not a clubber myself)

Key West has great night life and bars, and is a place you always want to come back to once you’ve been here. Sloppy Joe’s bar is a favorite with everyone, as well as the Green Parrot, the Schooner Wharf, Margaritaville, and dozens of others, all within easy walking distance of each other.

It is true that our beaches do not compare with beaches in many other places – beaches here are all manmade and the sand has to be shipped in because there isn’t any sand here. But our beaches are crowded and are enjoyed by all. Lots of water sports, boating, kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, glass bottomed boat tours, star gazing at sea, etc., all available in Key West.

For local color and character and a great time, Key West is hard to beat. It is different from anywhere else in Florida, and from anywhere else in the world, really. It is expensive here, though, so it depends on your budget. However, most of Florida is expensive in tourist season.
