Please, do not go to Key West. We have enough problems without you.

There are many homeless people here in Key West, so you will have lots of company. If you really do want to work, most likely you can find a job here in the service industry. However, a place to stay may be more difficult to find. People who sleep on the beaches generally do not hold down a job. Many homeless people sleep at Hibbs Beach particularly, resulting in an area that us often viewed as not very pleasant for the people of Key West to use. And it is expensive to live here – everything costs more in Key West because it has to be brought here over the highway. Many people working in the service industry need to hold down two jobs just to make ends meet. A church on Flagler serves dinner to homeless and needy people everyday so you may be able to take advantage of that. As the previous poster indicated, Key West really does not need another intentionally homeless person. You will most likely be able to get a job here, and you will be able to find a room in a rooming house for about $700 to $800 a month.
