I was thinking of living in Key West over my summer vacation.any tips?
justwondering asked:
I have vacationed in Key West in the past and I absolutely love the town and its people. I’ve been dying to go back and now that I’m a teacher (from New England), I was thinking of moving to Key West for the summer.

I’d need a job in Key West to be able to stay all summer. I’m also a bartender, so do you know any bars or restaurants that would be willing to hire me for the summer only (from the end of June to the end of August)? And, any tips on where to stay? hotel or rent?
Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thank you!

Wow, Key West really *****?
What’s mine is yours! asked:
Hi guys. I know this is a Miami answers but closest there is. I was just wondering how Key West got it’s reputation of beautiful sand beaches, amazing snorkeling/coral reefs, and an awesome night-life. It has none of the above. The island is ugly and trashy. It is unkept. I am here now and I will tell you what I see.
A) Less than 1/4 mile of sea-weed filled beaches, that are not cared for and no good looking women.
B) The so-called coral reefs are really just rocks with sea urchins and weeds on them. That was a waste of $200!
C) The nightlife is not what you expect it to be. Did Jimmy Buffet make that song just to promote one of his crappy bars? The great Margaritaville is nothing more than a 50′s+ bar that seats maybe 15? The bars are small, there is no dancing. It’s just a bunch of old people with skin cancer and jean-cut shorts drinking their lives away.
In summary; not what I expected. It’s not a great beach getaway, and it’s not a great bar scene. I’m quite disappointed. Should have picked Daytona, Clearwater, etc. I would not recommend Key West to anyone. Ever. What a waste of money.

fort lauderdale/miami scenic areas and places to eat?
KKG asked:
We are heading to southern florida in two weeks (Ft. Lauderdale). My bro_in_law is a photographer and we’d like to know good places to go take pics. We’re planning to travel all the way down to Key West.
Also, please let us know if you know any attractions in Ft.Lauderdale, Miami and Key West and more importantly good places to eat seafood or spicy latin (cuban) food. It’d be even better if the restaurant has a killer view.
Thanks a lot.

I would like to visit Key West from Miami. Is it worth the drive?
gino232000 asked:
I am currently visiting Miami and I have a spear day tomorrow. I would like to drive to Key West. I know that to drive it it takes almost four hours and I have to be back tomorrow night. Would the drive be worth? I don’t mind driving a lot, and I know the highway is amazing. Can you give me any advice on what to see and what to do? Thank you.
